Line Dances!

Here are some fifth graders from Ms. Hart's class showing off their fancy dance moves to "Galopede," a piece of English folk music. We moved the dance from the music room to the hall to create two long parallel lines for fun and for extra space to move safely. We look forward to trying it again with another folk dance in the next few weeks!

Over the River and through the Wood

Fourth grade classes learned and performed the traditional American Thanksgiving song "Over the River and through the Wood." Each class took turns critiquing their work to think about what worked well and what they would strive to improve the next time they sang this song or a similar one. It was a fun exercise and here is one of their "works-in-progress" that we hope you enjoy listening to, as well.

Check out some first graders reading, responding, editing, and performing rhythmic representations of music symbols (quarter notes and eighth notes) in different patterns!
